About TXCDR
Texas Congregational Disaster Readiness (TXCDR) is a comprehensive, collaborative, and coherent action plan to enable Congregations to work together to expedite relief and recovery in communities impacted by a disaster.
The TXCDR program helps prepare Congregations to respond to disasters by mobilizing leaders and volunteers that are prepared and equipped to help their neighbors recover from disasters of all kinds.

Response Teams
The heart of TXCDR operations are our Congregation’s Response Teams. A Response Team consists of one or more members of a Congregation that have been trained to use TXCDR standard procedures to respond to a disaster.
Our Response Teams fall into four general categories: Compassionate Care, Sheltering, Home and Property, and Distribution.
Education and Training
Mobilizing volunteers that are ready to take on sophisticated recovery challenges and lead volunteers requires education and training.
TXCDR offers courses for a Congregation’s Disaster Response Coordinator and its Response Teams. During COVID-19 driven social distancing, most education and training will be online.
Join TXCDR
We invite Congregations, Denominations, Disaster Networks or Coalitions of Congregations, and Disaster relief organizations to join TXCDR.
Level I Engagement is for Congregations interested in participating by providing event volunteers when there is a disaster.
Level II Engagement is for Congregations who commit to supporting and fielding one or more Response Teams.
We are always looking for partner organizations who wish to collaborate with TXCDR.
