Home & Property

Home and Property Response Teams assist homeowners handle the immediate demands for cleanup following a disaster. They remove damaged materials, help salvage items that can be saved, place tarps on roofs, and board up damaged windows. The Chainsaw Response Team helps cut up and remove downed trees.

Mucking/Gutting

Mucking and Gutting Response Teams assist the homeowner in preparing their home to dry before repairs can begin. They remove water-damaged drywall, rugs, some flooring, and household contents and help preserve those items that can be salvaged. They sanitize the home to prevent mold growth.

Chain Sawing

The Chain Saw Response Teams help by cutting up fallen trees and stacking of debris. Because of the inherent risk of this type of work, all members of a Chain Saw Response Team must be trained by TXCDR.

Tarping/Boarding

Tarp and Board Response Teams provide temporary waterproofing of damaged roofs by attaching tarps to protect from further damage. This Response Team also boards up damaged openings in walls to minimize vandalism and water infiltration.

Mission Team Support

Mission Response Team Support training is for teams planning a trip to serve in a disaster-impacted community. The curriculum is tailored to the kind of work the team is expected to encounter. TXCDR also offers support for Congregations sending mission teams to serve remotely, including assistance on finding a place to stay, food to eat, and assessment of projects for the team.
